Look out for the Cutting Edge documentary. There is no name agreed as yet and it is likely to be the end of October. We’ve seen some rough edits and it looks fantastic. There’s amazing footage of Mike sailing deep in the Southern Ocean and insight into the emotional rollercoaster that Mike and his family were on throughout the trip. It shows that the trip was much more challenging in many ways than Mike ever let on to us all at the time.

Me too, we can’t download Channel 4 in NZ either. strangely, without mike’s blog, getting on the computer for work each day is not as much fun.
Mike’s new challenge, while cool, is well, odd that he would do a trip celebrating a person who was mean to the crew. I mean the trip is a great feat, but well, sort of not as cool as someone making the same trip because of adventure.
I might check now and then, because mike and the rest of the crew are so neat, and good sailors, it is just I wish they had chosen someone else’s trip to follow.

I’ve just viewed the “Cutting Edge” docu of Mike’s voyage…”The Schoolboy who sailed around the World”. What an epic voyage! Now we know the rest of the story, which wasn’t really evident from his daily blogs and vids. What a story! I had tears several times while watching this.

To all my fellow posters…one of our own here is battling tough seas at the moment. Timothy from Amsterdam Holland is a lad only 7 days younger than Mike and is fighting leukemia. Some of us including Mike have sent him personal emails of encouragement. Tim has been a follower of Mike’s since day one but has remained silent til a couple of weeks ago. He loves sailing and is a very accomplished sailor himself. He’s been really really ‘chuffed’ by our emails todate and they put a huge ‘grin’ on his face.
