Look out for the Cutting Edge documentary. There is no name agreed as yet and it is likely to be the end of October. We’ve seen some rough edits and it looks fantastic. There’s amazing footage of Mike sailing deep in the Southern Ocean and insight into the emotional rollercoaster that Mike and his family were on throughout the trip. 17 year-old British sailor Mike Perham has become the youngest person to sail single-handed around the world. His 50ft yacht Totallymoney.com crossed the traditional Lizard/Ushant line marking the start and finish point of his 30,000 mile record-setting in bright sunshine at 09:47:30 secs (local)am this morning – two months inside the previous age record set by American teenager Zac Sutherland.

Aged 17 years, 164 days old the teenager from Potters Bar Hertfordshire, was escorted across the line by Royal Navy guard ship HMS Mersey, a helicopter from 771 Squadron at Royal Naval Air Station Culdrose, and a small flotilla of press boats that had been on standby overnight to record his finish.

Mike said: “I’ve made it, I’ve made my dream come true and it feels amazing. A BIG BIG thanks to my Dad, Mum, all the sponsors and every one who has helped me along the way.

I can’t believe that the Royal Navy has sent HMS Mersey and a helicopter to witness my crossing the line. I feel very honoured.”

Mike’s Dad said: “Mike is a very special son, he has done incredibly well. He has shown that with determination, you can succeed even in the most adverse circumstances. He has shown the world that he is an extraordinary young man and an inspiration to us all.”

The First Sea Lord, Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope, KCB OBE ADC passed a message to Mike Perham as he sailed past The Lizard passed on a congratulatory message via Lt Cdr Carl Wiseman Captain of HMS Mersey:

“The Royal Navy offers its sincere congratulations to Michael Perham on his record breaking single-handed sailing circumnavigation. This is a remarkable and inspirational achievement in one so young, another impressive event in the rich Maritime history of this island nation and of the Perham family”.

“Michael’s family have strong maritime connections, with his father having been a merchant naval officer, his grandfather having served with the Royal Navy during World War 2, and his great grandfather as a Royal Marine in the Crimean war.”

“Michael sets a fine example showing remarkable character, grit and self discipline in completing this historic record-breaking voyage and the Royal Navy is delighted to participate in welcoming him back home to the UK as an honoured and much respected fellow seafarer.”

After crossing the finish line Mike was joined by his Dad, Peter to continue sailing back to for a homecoming welcome at Gunwharf Quay at 11:00 on Saturday.

Overnight, the teenager from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire has had to cope with the tail-end effects of Hurricane Bill which has now split into two distinct low pressure systems. The huge seas now running in the Western Approaches forced Mike to stay away from the Continental Shelf overnight but this is not expected to delay his arrival off Falmouth by very much

Bubbling with excitement, Mike reported this morning: I am getting really, really excited about crossing the finish line off the Lizard, tomorrow morning and also for my homecoming at Gunwharf Quay Portsmouth at 11:00 on Saturday. Guinness World Records™ on standby to ratify Mike Perham as the youngest person to sail solo around the world.

Guinness World Records will be on hand to ratify 17-year-old Mike Perham’s astonishing achievement of becoming the youngest person to sail solo around the world, when the British sailor returns to Gunwharf Quay, Portsmouth on Saturday August 29.

This will not be the first time that Mike Perham from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire has been credited by Guinness World Records. Back in January 2007, he became the youngest person to sail solo across the Atlantic at the age of 14.

Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records, said: “This is another incredible achievement, and it marks Mike as the consummate record-breaker – someone who’s continually prepared to set themselves new and more challenging goals. Even the most experienced of sailors would be tested by the mental and physical stamina required to achieve a record of this magnitude. The fact that Mike achieved it at such a young age is a testament to his courage and unparalleled sense of adventure.”

Mike set out on his latest solo adventure from Gunwharf Quay on 15th November 2008 and crossed the traditional Ushant/Lizard line for marking the start (and finish) of sailing circumnavigations from the Western Approaches, on the 18th November 2008 aboard his 50ft yacht TotallyMoney.com at the age of 16 years 247 days.

His 30,000-mile circumnavigation has taken him via Cascais (Portugal), Las Palmas, (Canaries) Cape Town (South Africa), Hobart (Australia), Auckland (New Zealand) and Panama. 17 year-old British sailor Mike Perham is now within 3 days of becoming the world’s youngest solo circumnavigator. He now expects his 50ft yacht Totallymoney.com to reach the Lizard line marking the start and finish point of his 30,000 mile record-setting odyssey this Thursday – two months inside the current record.

He is not yet quite home and dry. Behind him, the tail end of Hurricane Bill is expected to overtake Mike early on Wednesday to provide one last test of endurance for this teenager from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. If his yacht Totallymoney.com survives that trial, then Guinness World Records is standing by at the at Lizard Point, Cornwall, to ratify his record.

Over the weekend, Mike survived a collision, crash gybe and 40ft swells. He wrote in his blog today: “I was standing on deck gazing out across the sea when suddenly WHACK! We hit something. I jumped in the stern and saw that the autopilot ram had been partially torn away and could hear that not-so-lovely noise of cracking fiberglass.! I looked over the back but couldn’t see anything amiss.

I knocked out the pin connecting the autopilot and the boat went into a nasty crash gybe. The mainsail whacked across and we rounded up into a stiff 30knot breeze. We started sailing backwards, just as I had hoped, and I suddenly felt the tiller go ‘free’. So whatever it was, fell off!

But the fun wasn’t over! When we gybed, one of the attachments holding the full length sail battens had snapped. Not good! Now I was faced with an hour long struggle to get the mainsail down to replace it. Then came the really hard bit – getting the main up the mast again. It was blowing 30knots and because the head of the sail is so large, it was forever catching on the lazy jacks and took an hour and a half to finally get the main back up to the first reef mark.

Now I am bracing myself for Hurricane Bill. I’ve currently got 35knots of wind and some serious seas. A rough 40foot swell too! The sea has picked up so much because this Big Bad Low has had a long way to really build up. I expect to be saying “hi” to Hurricane Bill in the early hours of Wednesday.”

Hello Everyone

I am now so close to the edge of my seat, I don’t know why I haven’t fallen off! It seems that the less miles Mike has to do, the more things I think of that can go wrong. Just when I was telling friends this leg has been relatively free of drama Mike phoned me yesterday to say he had to go up the mast.

One of Mike’s key objectives of the voyage was to try to raise money for the Tall Ships Youth Trust and Save The Children. We thought if he raised a pound a mile that would be amazing but possible especially when you compare Mike’s endurance, compared to other fund raising initiatives. I have to say, Mike and I are a little dissapointed that he has only raised a few hundred pounds for each charity so far. Perhaps people are waiting to see if he finishes or perhaps people don’t no how to give? Perhaps our expectations are too big? What ever the reasons if you are able to give a small amount to one of Mike’s charities I know the money will be used for activities that Mike holds very close to his heart and it will make this voyage even more worthwhile than it already is.

We are watching the weather and hopefully Mike will be able to sail up the Solent on Saturday morning to reach Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth at 11am.

17-year-old yachtsman Mike Perham is now within 2,600 miles of sailing into the record books as the youngest solo circumnavigator. He now expects to reach the Lizard line marking the start and finish point of his 30,000 mile record-setting odyssey as early as August 24, two months inside the current record.

Mike, who set out from England last November, has been making full use of the Gulf Stream since setting out on the final stage from Panama on July 28 and this morning, his yacht Totallymoney.com was 360 miles southeast of New York. He has started to turn east in the direction of home but is still making full use of the Gulf Stream, which is giving Mike an extra 2 knots of ground speed.

Mike reports:’Today, the wind has now picked up. We just had a gust of 34 knots and Totallymoney.com surfed out of it at 19 knots! What a boat!’

This morning, when it was just getting light, I had a couple of really nasty squall clouds come by with 40knots of wind, and we were careering along. Then, just as suddenly, the wind dropped back down to 10knots and without any warning, turned from southwesterly to easterly – Totallymoney.com did a big turn and began sailing back in the opposite direction! I couldn’t believe it;there are obviously some serious local effects going on here. Ten minutes later, the wind suddenly spun round to the south and then southwest and off we went again. It has remained in the low teens since and I’ve been able to steadily tick off the miles once more.

I’ve noticed in a big way the difference in seawater temperature between here and the Caribbean. My daily shower on the foredeck with a bucket is certainly starting to feel a little chilly! It is good to be away from the major shipping routes now, though a few ships are still showing up on the radar each day, so I certainly won’t be letting my guard down.’

Once across the Ushant/Lizard finish line, Mike plans sail on up the English Channel back to Gunwharf Quay, Portsmouth to a reunion with family and friends on Wednesday 26th August.

Mike Perham, the teenager from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire who has high hopes of sailing into the record books at the end of August to become the youngest person to circumnavigate the Globe alone, has covered more than 1,000 miles during his first week and is now off the Florida coast.

He and his Open 50 yacht Totallymoney.com left Panama last Tuesday, but says he has not been able to sleep for more than two hours a day, sometimes down to one and never longer than 15 minutes at a time. This is because he has to stay alert for fear of being run down by one of the many ships that are following the same route between Panama and the East Coast of the US. At times he has reported over 20 ships on his radar. On Sunday Mike said in his blog, ‘The main thing is to be safe. The traffic has picked up a lot this evening – in the last hour I’ve had three ships pass within a few miles.’

Mike has also found the extreme heat particularly uncomfortable. He reports, ‘It’s so, so hot inside that the last thing I want to do at the moment is sit at the chart table. it’s over forty degrees Celsius day and night.’ Often he has no choice but to be in the cabin as he has had to navigate around the Miskito and Rosalind Banks that stick out from the coast of Nicaragua and Honduras. On rounding the western tip of Cuba over the weekend there was a traffic separation scheme to be negotiated.

Mike is having to use all his navigation skills, working the currents and sometimes fickle winds to pass through this area. His decision to go through the Panama Canal instead of around Cape Horn is proving far more of a challenge than was first perceived.

Another weather phenomenon he has had to contend with are the powerful lightening storms. On Monday he wrote, ‘Today was a day of squalls and some of the craziest forked lightning I’ve seen so far – a bolt hit the water less than a mile away from me as I rounded the western tip of Cuba. Slightly worrying when I’m the tallest thing around!’

Another concern are pirates which are known to operate in this area. Mike is on an increased state of alert and his web tracker, showing the world Totallymoney.com course, has been suspended until he is clear of the region

If the wind gods remain kind, the 17 year old circumnavigator now expects to cross the Ushant/Lizard finish line off Falmouth UK in 21 days time and hopes to return to Gunwharf Quay, Portsmouth on August 25/26

Three days after leaving Panama on the final stage of his quest to sail into the record books as the youngest solo circumnavigator, 17-year old Mike Perham has been forced to climb the mast of his 50ft yacht in 28 knots of wind. Still feeling sea-sick after setting out from Panama last Tuesday, Mike then had to cope with a broken lazy jackstay (a rope running from mast to the end of the boom to guide the sail down when reefing) wrapped itself around one of the cars holding the mainsail to the mast.

Mike writes: The wind had built to a nice 18-19 knots during the night and so I put a reef in for good measure. I’m not quite sure how it happened but as I was putting the reef in, one of the lazy jacks snapped and managed to wrap itself around one of the cars attached to the mainsail. This meant I couldn’t lower the sail, so a mast climb needed to be done, and soon!

To make things more interesting, the wind had picked up and was gusting 28 knots as I got everything ready – my protective padding, the new line for the lazy jack and a camera mounted on my helmet to get some footage. As with any mast climb, I phoned up my Dad to tell him I was going up and not to expect to hear from me in the next hour or so. I bore Totallymoney.com away off the wind a little to ease off some of the slamming but we were still really getting chucked around and hitting loads of waves as I set off.

Going up wasn’t so bad once I had got into the swing of things, but getting around the first spreader was really tough. With too much canvas up, I was really being bucked around! After clearing the first spreader I headed to the lazy jack attachment and with my legs wrapped around the mast, threaded the new line making sure it wasn’t in a mess – I didn’t want to have to come back up to correct a mistake!

I started to feel really sick and got light-headed. I lost count of the number of times I was smacked against the rig. Coming down was much harder than going up and took me twice as long. If it wasn’t for my body padding, I would be covered in bruises and probably have a couple of cracked ribs for good measure! Getting down felt like an eternity. As I felt my leg touch the boom, I unclipped myself off my climbing gear and laid down on the deck, completely knackered. I hadn’t had any sleep, nor eaten well and was feeling thoroughly sea sick in the lumpy swell. Not a great start to my last leg. But oh well, I’m heading home now, and despite the exhaustion I’m still wearing that grin on my face!

Money raised by Mike during the 28,000-mile voyage is being donated to Save the Children and the Tall Ships Youth Trust.

17 year old British sailor Mike Perham set out from Panama last night on the final stage of his record attempt to become the youngest solo yachtsman to take on the world. Sailing the Open 50 race yacht TotallyMoney.com Mike set out on this extraordinary odyssey from Gunwharf Quay Portsmouth, England on November 15, 2008 and now expects to make a triumphant return within four weeks.

Mike from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, first hit the headlines two years ago when he became the youngest person ever to sail across the Atlantic single-handed at the age of just fourteen – a record recognised by the Guinness Book of Records.

The Guinness encyclopaedia of record facts and feats is monitoring Mike’s progress once more. Earlier this month, American teenager Zac Sunderland returned to Los Angeles to claim the youngest solo circumnavigation record, but Mike is three and a half months younger and has until mid November to get his name into the record books. Mike Broughton, the British weather guru, who has been advising Perham throughout his record attempt, forecasts a 29 day voyage back to Portsmouth to give the 17 year old more than 2 months to spare.

During Mike’s circumnavigation, which is sponsored by Totallymoney.com, Vocalink, Skechers Footwear, Mastervolt, Kemp Sails and many other companies, he has overcome everything nature can throw at him including storm force winds and 50ft seas. He has also had to overcome major problems with his yacht’s self-steering system, rudder bearings and electrics. Continued bad weather in the Southern Ocean, which had TotallyMoney.com surfing down waves at crazy speeds up to 28knots, eventually forced the teenager to sail much further north than he had intended and sensibly, he re routed his return to the Atlantic via the Panama Canal.

Mike’s daily blogs and videos have been an inspiration to thousands who read and watch them each day. Mixing picturesque sunsets with ferocious seas, he describes with remarkable insight, his encounters with whales and dolphins, – and contrasting rubbish that litter the sea. Mike said today: “I’m finally on the last leg and it feels just great. I only have about 5,000 miles to go, so I am hoping to be home inside four weeks. I really can’t wait, but I won’t push the boat too hard, as I would not want anything to happen that might have been preventable.”

Mike Perham, who is hoping to become the youngest person to sail single-handed around the world, clocked his 20,000th mile yesterday. He said on his sat phone to his father, Peter: “This mileage give me a great feeling that I am well on my way home and I now only have 10,000 to go.”

Back home his father Peter, plots his position every day. He said: “Looking at the chart Mike has achieved a huge amount already and looks well set to be home by the end of July.”

The trip was originally envisaged to cover 24,000 miles. However, with all the deviations to stop for repairs and keeping out of bad weather, the trip is expected to cover around 30,000 miles.

Mike is hoping to raise £1 for every mile sailed for the Tall Ships Youth Trust and Save the Children.

The countdown has started for the return home of British teenage adventurer Mike Perham. Mike, from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, will be home in 60 days after spending what will be an astonishing eight months at sea.

The teenager will be sailing into the record books as the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe single-handed. Mike resumed his world record bid yesterday evening. He waved goodbye to Auckland after stopping to replace his starboard rudder bearings which were giving him cause for concern across the Tasman sea. Mike’s boat, Totallymoney.com, is now headed deep into the notorious southern ocean and hopes to be home in 60 days.

His proud mum, Heather Perham said, ‘he has been away far longer than we planned due to all the stops to effect repairs, so now he has only 60 days left, we are already getting excited for his homecoming’.

Today Mike will be crossing the 180 degrees meridian of longitude taking him from east to west longitude. He said, ‘Another milestone clocked and it will be good to see the degrees decreasing till I get home.’

The teenage already holds the record for being the youngest person to cross the Atlantic single-handed. He accomplished this when he was just 14 years old.

A 17-year-old British teenager planning to become the youngest person to sail single-handed around the world is to make a brief stop in New Zealand.

Michael Perham, from Potters Bar in Hertfordshire, set off last November on his quest to circumnavigate the globe single-handed. The teenager sailed into the record books 3 years ago when he became the youngest person to cross the Atlantic single handed when he was just 14 years old.

Michael will be putting into Auckland on Friday morning for a brief stopover. He has reported that the starboard rudder bearing on his boat, Totallymoney.com, is making grating noises and is moving excessively. Michael’s dad, Peter has already organised for new parts to be collected from France and he will personally deliver them to Mike on Saturday.

Totallymoney.com will be berthed at Hobson West, Auckland.

Mike plans to make a brief stop in Hobart, the state capital and most populous city of the Australian island state of Tasmania. Once there he plans to make some quick repairs to TotallyMoney.com. Mike will be marking a milestone on Thursday during his epic bid to become the youngest person to sail single handed around the world.

He will be passing Cape Leeuwin on the South West corner of Australia tomorrow (Thursday).

Mike has been away for four months after leaving Portsmouth Harbour in November.

His father, Peter Perham, said, “This cape represents an important milestone for Mike as it ticks off another one of the five capes which he must pass on his route around the world”.

Mike said in his blog yesterday “Last night was good fun with a strong front passing through giving me a steady 38knots of wind for quite a while, gusting into the 40’s. We were definitely in surfing mode and Totallymoney.com was clocking up some fantastic speeds with some very, very long surfs”.

Mike will soon be halfway across the notorious Southern Ocean. However, he is sensibly taking a northerly route to avoid any ice and skillfully uses the speed of his open 50 racing boat to keep out of the way of any storms that pass by.

Michael has said good bye to Cape Town after successfully making repairs to his boat, Totallymoney.com. Michael stopped for a month in Cape Town to sort out problems with his rudder and install a new auto-pilot system. He also took the opportunity to have the mast checked.

The strong South Easterly winds also delayed lifting the boat out of the water and putting it back in. The boat was thoroughly tested and was ready to go on Friday. However, Michael decided to wait until Sunday for a much better weather window.

Michael is very grateful to all the support and encouragement he received from people in Cape Town many of whom have sailed in the Southern Ocean.

Michael’s stop-over in South Africa will be extended by a few more days while he carries out essential repairs to Totallymoney.com . Mike is set to arrive in Cape Town later today where he will meet US sailor Zac Sunderland for the first time. Both teenagers are bidding to become the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe. Michael Perham, 16, already holds the world record for being the youngest person to sail across the Atlantic single handed. Mike will be docking a the Royal Cape Town Yacht Club later today.

Teenage sailor Michael Perham is planning a brief stop in Cape Town, South Africa, as he continues his epic adventure to become the youngest person to sail around the world single handed.

Michael, 16, from Potters Bar, Herts, is sailing 24,000 miles in his bid to enter the record books. He is scheduled to complete his journey in May, 2009.

Michael decided today that he will be making a brief stop in Cape Town to check equipment on board his boat, Totallymoney.com.

He said: “A horrible groaning noise has been coming from one of the rudder shafts. It’s been moving around in the top bearing, only very slightly with about 2mm of movement. I’ve asked the shore team for some advice as to what to do about this. One of the last things I want to do is to push into the Southern Ocean without total confidence in the steering system.”

Plans have already been made to fly out new equipment in time for Michael’s arrival.

Michael’s father, Peter, will also be flying to Cape Town. He said: “It will certainly be good to see Michael again and give my anxiety levels a rest knowing he is safe on dry land.”

Spokesman Kizzi Nkwocha said: “This is a precautionary stop and will take a couple of days. Michael is still on schedule to becoming the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe. This has been an incredibly expensive project for the Perhams and we’re grateful to The Marine Travel Company for offering to pay for Peter’s flight. Peter just needs a hotel once he gets there”.

As Michael Perham continues south in his bid to become the youngest person ever to circumnavigate the world single-handed, he has now passed the leading yacht Fonica in the Vendee Globe race.

Michael said, “the closest I got to Desjoyeaux was about 60 miles. My team have been updating me of the Vendee Globe positions everyday so with any luck I might even see one of them. Perhaps one day, I might be competing.”

Michael’s father Peter commented:”I know Mike has had the Vendee Globe on his radar for a number of years now and to be in the same waters thinking that he might do it one day is very inspiring.”

Michael, from Potters Bar, became the youngest person to sail across the Atlantic two years ago when he was aged just 14. The crossing took just under six weeks. His latest adventure, sailing the yacht Totallymoney.com, will take an estimated four months and will cover over 24,000 miles.

Support from around the world continues to pour in for Mike Perham and his world record-breaking bid to become the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe.

Daily updates on Mike’s blog are always met with feedback from his supporters, as they continue to encourage him as they follow him on his journey. Mike finds the support invaluable, particularly during challenging times, and says that the supportive comments he receives often help him remain optimistic in the face of obstacles and difficulties.

Many people have left comments revealing the extent to which he has inspired them to face challenges in their own lives, or succeed with their own personal goals.

Carol Clasper from Scotland is one such supporter. The Fibre Artist and quilting teacher has designed a quilt in honour of Mike’s journey, named ‘Circumnavigation’.

Carol said, ‘I have just completed a two year Quilt judging course through the Quilters Guild of the British Isles. Although I have managed to get inspiration for the classes I teach, I was struggling to get inspiration to make a quilt for myself. When I read about Mike’s challenge I was inspired to design the quilt. I just felt it was a wonderful opportunity for me to work on the quilt whilst watching Mike’s progress. It will be a while in the making but the hard part is done – the design work’.

Michael has reached the first milestone of his epic bid to become the youngest person in the world to circumnavigate the globe single handed.

When he crosses the equator tomorrow, Michael, 16 will be firmly on track to make world history despite earlier setbacks involving his autopilot system.

His father, Peter Perham said: “Crossing the Equator takes Mike from the northern hemisphere to the southern hemisphere. Physically and mentally this is a huge milestone for Mike as it marks his crossing to the ‘other side’ of the Globe.”

Michael has re-commenced his bid to become the youngest person to sail around the world single-handed.

He set off yesterday saying how pleased he was to be back at sea after spending almost a month trying to sort out gremlins in his auto-pilot system. Speaking from his satellite phone he said, “I’m free at last, it feels absolutely brilliant to be on my way again. I am still slightly anxious that the Auto-pilot is 100% reliable, but with each passing hour my confidence in it builds.”

Mike’s Dad, Peter said, “Mike has shown a great strength of character in having to deal with so many setbacks so early on in the voyage, He has only sailed for 12 days since leaving six weeks ago and to make matters more challenging, up till last week there was an excellent weather pattern to send him on his way, alas this has now moved on so he will have to contend with light, variable and mostly adverse winds for the next few days.”

Spare parts for Totallymoney.com’s autopilot system are being flown out to Gran Canaria. Once fitted, Michael will be taking Totallymoney.com out for a test run. If Michael and the team are satisfied that the problem has been fixed, Micheal will be on his way on Wednesday / Thursday.

Michael Perham has been delayed on the first leg of his bid to become the youngest person to sail non stop around the world single handed. As a result, he has set his sights on a new record – the youngest sailor to circumnavigate the globe single handed.

Michael has had to dock at Gran Canaria to make repairs to his auto pilot system. The auto pilot system began malfunctioning almost immediately after Michael set off from Portsmouth four weeks ago. Once the problem is repaired Michael will continue his world crossing with the aim of becoming the youngest person ever to sail around the world solo.

“I’ve had to be really careful sailing the boat as when ever the autopilot malfunctions there is a big risk of going into a gybe and bringing down the mast. I’ve only been able to sail for 10 days out of 30 it’ just so frustrating” Michael said today. His father, Peter said: “Everyone really feels for Mike. However, we are fortunate that he is being well looked after by some of the sailing community in Las Palmas”
Michael hopes to complete repairs this week end and continue on his epic 24,000 mile journey. The world crossing will take four and a half months.

Michael made history two years ago when he entered the record books as the youngest person to sail around the Atlantic single handed. He was just 14 years old.

Today Mike has worked with technical advisors to make repairs to Totallymoney.com’s auto pilot system.

It is hoped that the repairs will resolve the problems with the system and Mike will be taking Totallymoney.com out for a test run tomorrow morning.

All being well, he plans to leave Gran Canaria tomorrow and continue on his epic solo world trip.

After 10 days in Gran Canaria getting the faulty auto-pilot onboard TotallyMoney.com repaired, Mike set out on a test sail on Saturday.

Unfortunately, 10 hours into the trip, the auto-pilot once again broke down.

Mike is currently working with technicians to try to repair the auto-pilot once and for all, and put an end to the frustrating set-backs that have thus far delayed Mike’s trip.

Mike’s team would once again like to thank all of you for your support, emails and blog comments. Mike certainly takes great inspiration from all the support, and is eager to get the issues resolved so he can get underway!
