Partnering with Cashplus to provide transparent borrowing for the UK’s 3.2 million sole-traders
By Charlie Calver, Commercial Manager
Mar 2nd 2022We’re excited to announce our partnership with Cashplus to launch its brand-new credit card for the UK’s often overlooked 3.2 million sole-traders and entrepreneurs.
It’s the next step in the Partner GOALs Programme we launched at our event last autumn, supporting our partners to go to market faster while leveraging data to improve transparency, product offering and customer journeys.
Making fintech for everyone a reality
With over 65% of new businesses being refused credit, it’s clear that not enough is being done to help, leaving them under-served by mainstream lenders. With 1 in 10 TotallyMoney customers being self-employed, that’s a big gap.
One fintech, Cashplus, is working to change this with its goal of closing the £6bn “lending gap” between the credit demand SMEs have, and what's actually available to them. A goal which is closely aligned with one of our own, in enabling fintech for everyone.
Being declined for credit can leave a mark on the applicant's credit file, impacting their ability to access credit in the future. By integrating Cashplus via an API we’ve enabled eligibility checking which means that customers know their chances of acceptance, before applying.
The Cashplus 1% cashback card comes with guaranteed rates and guaranteed limits meaning customers know exactly what they’re being offered before they apply. These features help remove the guesswork and put customers in control of their own financial decisions.
With many feeling the impact of the pandemic and now soaring inflation, it’s important that we move quickly towards a more transparent industry that empowers its customers. By doing that we’ll move closer towards our mission of helping everyone move their finances forward.
