This week’s pick of personal finance posts

It’s been a really exciting week for me here at TotallyMoney. While I’ve been settling in and finding my footing without Harri’s guidance, we’ve been talking all about saving and debt reduction. (And with pay day next week, I’m feeling financially inspired to start saving properly!)

To recap, Penny walked us through emergency funds – and how big they should be. Viviana posed the question: which comes first, savings or debt reduction? Alex gave us a great list of easy ways to start saving and Christine told us how we’re wasting money at the checkout. Cliff explained what the Libor scandal means for consumers and Emma-Lou has got us trimming the fat by getting our wallets into shape.

Have you got any savings/debt reduction tips you’d like to share with us? Please put them in the comments below.

And now what you came here for – this week’s personal finance blogging highlights:

Over at Sterling Effort, Ash blogged about how to haggle – and when it’s probably not a good idea even to attempt it.

A Thrifty Mrs. helped us save a bit more with her Three Day Rule.

We’ve also been mentioned over at NerdWallet.
