Are you wasting money on your entertainment subscriptions?

If you have been with the same supplier for your broadband, mobile phone, landline or pay-TV subscriptions for the last 18 months, you could be missing out on the best deals.

According to research from Moneysupermarket.com, these household bills have typically fallen over the last 18 months, but over 33 million people (69%) have failed to ensure they are on the best deal by reviewing their subscriptions over the past year.

The research found that apathy remains a key reason for sticking with the same supplier, with 11% saying they simply can’t be bothered to switch. However almost two-thirds (61%) are so happy with their provider they are willing to miss out on saving money from their household bills.

James Parker, broadband and mobiles manager at moneysupermarket.com, said:

“Our research has shown that those who had switched services in the last 12 months had saved almost £200 over that time – this makes a huge difference to the household wallet and could be used to pay for a treat for you and the family. ”

The research suggests that bundling services could result in large of up to £320. However, over half of British adults (54%) are still paying separate providers for these services.

Mr. Parker added:

“Although standalone packages are coming down in price and offer great value, there are even more savings to be made when opting to receive all these services through one provider.”

“Sky, Virgin and BT all offer great bundles to suit any household’s needs. Whether it is every TV channel, superfast broadband or unlimited talk packages you are looking for, providers will be able to tailor a package to suit your needs. I urge anyone who hasn’t done so in the last 12 months to look at their subscriptions services to see where they could make some good savings.”
