Happy Friday everyone! Massive congratulations to those of you who got your A-level results yesterday and to all of you parents who’ve survived the agonising pre-results wait. We’ve already started up our series of guides for students heading to uni this year and there’ll be many more to follow over the next few weeks. To kick things off, I’ve taken a long hard look at what you do (and don’t) need to take to university, Britney’s found the best on campus jobs for students and come up with ideas for decorating your student room on the cheap, whilst FruGal has weighed up the merits of being a stay at home student. Watch this space for more tips!
Now to the pick of the personal finance posts this week…
First to the carnivals. Frugal Confessions was lovely enough to feature us in this week’s Yakezie Carnival: The Dow Jones Industrial Average Edition. Head on over for some of the finest posts from the members of the Yakezie network.
This week’s TotallyMoney Blog Carnival was hosted over at Free From Broke. Poor old Glen battled through a veritable bombardment of posts (we’re still not too sure why this happened) to sieve out the cream of the personal finance crop. Thanks Glen! Next week’s TotallyMoney Blog Carnival will be hosted over at Parenting Family Money.
The fantastic Super Frugalette welcomed us over at her site, where we contributed a post to her excellent blog post series on ‘life lessons I learned in business school that have nothing to do with business or education’.
As for the rest of the blogosphere…
Brazen Careerist shares how to be an awesome employee in a less than awesome job.
She Bloggs confesses that she’s given up on cooking.
No Debt MBA talks about a controversial means of funding your way through university.

The Thrifty Chick deliberates over wardrobe staples and the best office outfits.
Miss Thrifty lets us in on secrets for salvaging designer shoes.
Young and Thrifty takes a look at the law of attraction and money.
Finally for a little, tinsy, winsy plea. Nominations for this year’s Cosmo Blog Awards close next week and we’d be absolutely over the moon if we could make the short list for a second year in a row. Nominating is incredibly easy and will take all of two minutes. Please head to this post for more details. Big, big thanks in advance.
That’s all for now. Have a fabulous weekend everyone!
