It’s been one of those days. One of those days where you sit at your desk in the morning and realise that the ‘dress’ you’ve put on is in fact a top and no amount of surreptitious yanking is going to make it grow any time soon. As I count down the minutes until I can dash home under the cover of a (spectacularly unseasonal) coat to put an end to my immodesty, let’s take a look at the pick of the personal finance blogosphere this week…
And first to the carnivals. This week’s TotallyMoney Carnival was hosted over at carnival debutants Compounding Returns. Evan from My Journey to Millions was lovely enough to feature us in the Festival of Frugality and Tom over at the Canadian Finance Blog tipped his hat to us in the 320th Carnival of Personal Finance.
As for the rest of the blogosphere…
Viviana at The Lean Times asks can you be too frugal for your own good?
Fabulously Broke looks at where you should splurge and where you should save on make up.
Guest poster Helen looks at tips to make smart money choices over at Barbara Friedberg Personal Finance.
Young and Thrifty asks are financially independent women a turn on? (Pft! As if you’d need to ask!)
And on that theme, Give Me Back My Five Bucks debates what does financial independence really mean?
Krant Cents looks at what your next step should be.
Frugal Beautiful asks us which UFOs are costing us money (not quite what you might think).
A Thrifty Mrs imparts her tips on how to make blackberry vodka, which I feel I’m in need of. Right now.
As for the best of TotallyMoney this week Sian tells us how to save money and still eat out, Alex asks can I really couch surf on holiday and Kim looks at your everyday household products can save you time and money.
And now for a sneaky little plea. If you want to show this blog a little love, please head over to nominate us in the lifestyle category of this year’s Cosmo Blog Awards. Nominating takes all of two minutes and for every nomination I’ll do a dance of gratitude.
I’m off in search of some trousers.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
