Friday grapevine: best of the blogs

As we lug around extra padding from Christmas’ indulgences and reel from the Christmas present blow out, now’s the time to take a long hard look at our financial lives and start whipping them into shape. Now here at TotallyMoney, we realise that January isn’t an easy time. The weather’s grim, there isn’t a bank holiday in sight until April and we feel compelled to axe all of our guilty pleasures from our lives. Still, we reckon that setting up and sticking to a couple of financial goals needn’t be too tough. In fact we’d quite like to make the whole experience make you feel rewarded, warm and fuzzy.

This week we kicked off our latest series, where new TotallyMoney bods take to the floor and pen their experiences about sticking to their New Year Resolutions. Simon is battling his love of snacks, Sarah is on a quest to bring in lunches to work (and sharing her French culinary prowess with us), Hans is kicking the booze, Charlotte is slimming down her waistline and wallet ahead of her holiday and Philip is curbing his costly croissant habit. Follow them all this month to see how they get along!

As for other highlights this week…

The first TotallyMoney Blog Carnival of 2012 was hosted over at Help Me to Save. Remember to submit your posts for the next carnival, which may be picked by Mother Miser.

As for the rest of the blogosphere…

Penny Golightly kicked off her ‘jump start January’ series.

Robb of Boomer & Echo fame featured over at Give Me Back My Five Bucks and shared his thoughts on planning your financial future in your twenties.

Help Me to Save asked are you a miser?
