Since it looks like the coming Bank Holiday is set to be a wet one, you’re probably trying to plan some activities that don’t involve the whole family getting drenched, and don’t leave you out of pocket. Then look no further – hopefully this list of ideas will help you on your way to Bank Holiday family bliss!
See a family film
The Odeon Kids Club is a great way to get the whole family to the cinema for less. Screenings of family films of the moment as well as old classics are on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with kids tickets starting from just £1 – and adults go free! Find out more here.
Get some inspiration
There are plenty of days out that will see you and the kids safely inside, but still on a bit of an adventure. The fantastic Days out with the Kids allows you to search by area, the age range of your children, and by indoor activities. You’ll get a whole list of activities matching your criteria from all sorts of museums to castles, aquariums and planetariums.
Baking with the family
Kids love nothing better than getting their hands dirty, so why not let them loose in the kitchen? Under supervision of course! For a bit of inspiration as to what they can make, have a look at some of the children’s recipe ideas on Tesco Real Food.
Games
If you want to make a bit of an investment for future rainy days, then consider a new game. Something active like Twister is sure to keep them occupied for hours, and classics like Jenga and Connect4 will be very popular with the little ones. Check out the selection of games on Amazon – you’ll find something to suit just about everyone on there, and with reasonable prices and free delivery, you can’t go wrong.
Art and craft
If baking isn’t their thing, you can keep the kids happy at home with a spot of art and craft. BBC’s Cbeebies website has hundreds of crafty ideas to get you started, from pictures to colour in to instructions on how to make finger puppets, paper dolls and fridge magnets. And it’s all themed around their favourite characters and programmes like Balamory, Charlie and Lola and Bob the Builder.
