We work in cross-functional, agile teams and we like to cover all available surfaces with sketches and notes.
After leaving university with a degree in graphic design I wanted to gain a better insight into designing and developing for web, so I interned for a year to learn how the digital industry operates and worked for a publishing company as a digital designer before joining TotallyMoney.
I start my day by running through my work schedule and chase up the jobs that are a top priority. I get to work on a wide variety of creative projects, from interactive web pages/layouts to email and social media ads. We also have meetings and catch-ups which keep everyone engaged and up to date with the happenings of the business.
For me, one of the best things about working at TotallyMoney is being part of a smaller team. My last company had over 500 employees, which meant you sometimes didn’t get to see the real impact of the work you produce. TotallyMoney also provides an open and supportive platform allowing everyone the freedom to develop their skills and work autonomously.
TotallyMoney is a company which encourages people to socialise and become friends. I am on the social committee so I help organise group activities for everyone to enjoy. The company has even taken the whole office on a weekend trip to Ghent.
I enjoy meeting new people and gaining new skills by volunteering. I used to run a youth-led project in Tower Hamlets and I soon hope to start volunteering for the Metropolitan Police.
My working day is rarely the same as the day before. Today I might be working on TV optimisation and tomorrow I may be comparing the performance of two Facebook campaigns. Every day brings new challenges.
But truth be told, my favourite things are ping pong and beers on Friday afternoons, football on Wednesdays and the food from the nearby Whitecross Street market!
We have a start-up culture in many ways and I’m involved in different projects on a daily basis, which is very enriching for my career. TotallyMoney believes in people, skills and potential rather than just looking at experience.
Since joining, I’ve achieved the analytics certification from Google and am on my way to getting the Search certification too. I’ve also had the opportunity to expand on knowledge from my University years in econometrics and statistics.
Outside of work, you can find me DJing at The Lexington in Angel or the Queen of Hoxton in Shoreditch. If I wasn’t working as a Marketing Analyst, I’d probably be playing guitar in a band.
