Shtinkykat has given me a Pay it Forward Award. Isn’t she lovely?
According to the rules, I have to pay it forwards by awarding it to other personal finance blogs that I enjoy. The recipients can then:
1. Put the logo (above) on their blog;
2. Add a link to the person who awarded it to them;
3. Nominate at least 5 other blogs;
4. Add links to these blogs on your blog – don’t forget this step. This is great free advertising!
5. Leave a message for your award recipient on their blog.
(Please note that this is all done in the spirit of fun. There is no obligation.)
Now the fun part: nominating 5 blogs that I really enjoy. Ooh, the pressure…
I’ve managed to come up with five blogs that always, without fail, make up part of my daily PF blog reading. You probably already know most of them, but if not I recommend going to check them out. In no particular order, they are:
Fiscally Unbound
In her words: ‘How a 30-something spendthrift becomes a 30-something saving addict’.
In my words: Fiscally Unbound entertains me every morning as she relates her financial musings with humour and a good deal of wisdom. Hot foot it over there right now.
Hollyisstoppingshopping
In her words: ‘Fed up with never having any money, a girl with more clothes, shoes and bags than she knows what to do with sets out on a mission to go one whole year without shopping and learn to see the best in the things she already has’.
In my words: One of the most motivating blogs that I read. Want an example? Holly achieved every single one of her August goals. My personal finance poster girl.
Savingsnotshoes (Penny Pence)
In her words: ‘Trying to reverse the “Carrie Bradshaw” effect of my generation and have more in savings than in shoes!’
In my words: An American living in the UK, Penny Pence sometimes freaks me out by mirroring my exact thoughts on things. To a spooky extent. And I relate to a lot of her posts, as I too am finding my way through a foreign country and trying to make sense of it all. Fabulous. Check her out.
SavingCent
In her words: ‘Twenty something Seattlite who would really like to feel like her life is (financially) on the right track by the time 30 rolls around’.
In my words: I related to SavingCent from the very first time I stumbled across her site. She got into debt by following her dreams, and keeps me motivated with excellent tips and advice as she works her way back to financial freedom and stability. Read her self-titled ‘shame spiral’ and you will be hooked I promise.
Littlemissmoneybags
In her words: ‘A twenty-something woman living in New York City working in publishing. I have an abiding interest in personal finance’.
In my words: I’m relatively new to Littlemissmoneybags’ site, but I’m already a daily reader. She offers great tips and advice and I find her blog really motivating. One of those ones that makes you feel good because you’re not the only person going through this stuff.
So there they are. Of course I could mention another dozen or so without blinking, but I will restrain myself. If you aren’t already addicts to the above I hope you find some new, interesting daily reading.
Enjoy!

Thanks!
And I meant to leave you a comment in response to your comment about buying books–have you checked out PaperBackSwap?
Wow, thank you so much – that’s really cool! I’ll have to start thinking about my 5 now since I’d have given a few of those mentioned the same award!
Awh! Thank you! I’m totally flattered
As a newbie to personal finance blogging, I shall enjoy looking at these sites!!
